15th January 2019, arrived. That event no doubt was substantial to us since, after this event, we could send the proposal request to the U.N.O. So, I had to handle that event very carefully in order to avoid the mistakes and the shortfalls, that were experienced in the previous events.
I believe that an event can become successful if there is adequate financial support and manpower. It was a little difficult for the people to accept, what I was trying to do. I knew that it was not that easy to make this event perfect in all respects, in this short period of time. Gradually, people will feel this concept and will develop their interests in it. Gradually, I will gather experiences too.
This time I decided to arrange the event at Mahajati Sadan in Kolkata. I spent a huge amount of money on this event. I invited almost thirty consulates of Kolkata according to my advisor. But they did not respond to my call. I was not hurt. Maybe, they needed time to get accustomed to this project. Initially, the event was about to be held in an open theatre called ‘Uttirno’ at Alipore. I invited people, to the previously mentioned venue. The government can cancel any program for its own interest and purpose and it happened with me.
I had requested them for the authorisation. Initially, they approved verbally, but suddenly the situation changed. Later, they confirmed that due to some Govt. program they won’t be able to allow us to do the event over there. Only fifteen days were left for the event. I had to look for another venue for 15th January 2019.
On the other side, I received a letter from the Mayor of Kolkata on 4th January 2019, congratulating me. He sent this greeting and accepted my project, permitting it to happen. It was indeed a piece of great news for me. But, in the meantime, it was worldwide circulated that the event would be held at ‘Uttirno’. I was really very much worried about the situation but, there was no way of stepping back. All I had to do was move forward with courage and spontaneity. It was an overnight decision to arrange the whole event at Mahajati Sadan.
This auditorium was inaugurated by the great Rabindranath Tagore in 1939. He is the national poet of India and Bangladesh. The National Anthems of India and Bangladesh were composed by him. After many obstacles and hindrances, eventually the day 15th January 2019, has arrived. I was full of joy. The program was about to start from 12.30 p.m. but, we had to delay it since till then no V.I.P’s guest had arrived. Then slowly the crowd started gathering. A renowned filmmaker, Kazim Fayad and an actor visited from Lebanon to inaugurate the program. People were so excited and inspired. It was really a proud moment for me.
I am grateful to Dipa Das and her family. They were very much vehement with my project. I have to thank her daughter Shaleen. They encouraged me and helped me a lot. Dipa Das and Achena Mandal’s family are among those people, without whom it would have been not possible for me to conduct this event. I will be forever indebted to them. In Mahajati Sadan’s history, we are the ones who are using the drone with a camera for the first time. This was indeed exciting. Two representatives from the local police station visited during the event and appreciated it too. Ridendick personally greeted them. A few days back Ridendick had written a short book on me. The book consists of 32 pages. Soon on the 18th of January 2019, the book got its registration.
The book is very light weighted and low priced so that, people from every background can afford it. The book was published from BOOK BENGAL PUBLISHERS KOLKATA. During that time Banani Mandal was assisting Ridendick. Banani is a young lady, student of B.A. English Honors, second year. At the same time, she was taking training in music. They were like-minded otherwise they could not have worked along. She too was invited to the event and was excited about it.
Later, I heard that those two policemen came there to verify the accuracy of the program. So to answer them and to eliminate their doubts, Ridendick gifted them two books. After going through the books they were quite surprised and accepted the greatness of this project. They did not want to disturb me so they were about to leave. But, how could Ridendick let them go? He insisted on them, to stay for a while. They re-entered and were surprised to watch everything.
Perhaps, they were satisfied and happy to realise that at last something is happening for the interest of the World’s peace. The event of 15th January 2019, ended up with great pleasure, joy and satisfaction.
A few days later, I received a letter from the U.N.O. They might have judged a few things in the event of 15th January 2019. On the basis of that, they sent a letter to our foundation. They announced that they have accepted our proposal request in advance. I shared this great news with my colleagues including my advisor. We gained strength in our minds and were much confident.
I was happy to think that, someday our dreams will come true. We were motivated to work harder for our caring Mother Earth.
