In any corner of the world, when I see huge statues or towers, I can also see the ability to create, skill, technology, enthusiasm, power and diligence of the people behind these creations. It also needs huge funds. Every day we are making these kinds of statues and towers which are larger than the previous one. Each one is trying to beat another to register their superiority. It is a very tough contest I must say, though I am not in a position to say whether the competition is healthy or not. Let us discuss some of the tallest statues and towers in this chapter.

This colossal statue is built to honour the first home minister of the country, Indian statesman and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the first Deputy Prime Minister of independent India and adherent of Mahatma Gandhi during the non-violent Indian independence movement. The total weight of the structure is 4000 tons. It is said that the location of the statue is the spot where Amitabha Buddha attained enlightenment. For centuries, this location is considered as a sacred place for Buddhist pilgrimage. An elevator inside the statue takes the tourist to the observation deck, to get a panoramic view of the park and the city.
All these statues are some of the tallest in the world, but I realized that the statues are known by the name of people to whom they are dedicated to. But the people who dedicated their lives in building those statues are neglected everywhere. Those unsung, unheard and unlamented men build statues and the world doesn't care about them. The ordinary people, who create history with their toil, sweat, and blood, aren't remembered anywhere in this world.
Each of the above-mentioned statues are significant in their own way. In the history of any country, the endeavor of some people leads them to tremendous transformation. They create a history that the whole country boasts about. We pay homage to such heroes of the nation by building their statues and naming government buildings, airports, stadiums after their names. They deserve this love and honour. Like millions of people, I do honour this way of expressing gratitude. But who holds these huge statues with immense joy and responsibility for thousands of years? We all know the obvious answer. It is our Mother Earth. What if the Earth gets reluctant to hold this unimaginable weight? Everything collapses in front of our eyes. Right? But our Mother Earth would never do it. She is the paragon of duty and responsibility. She teaches us duty, responsibility, purity, honesty, and love. If we pray to her for forgiveness, she will surely forgive us no matter what. She adores her children, that's us.
